Emailing on P-Day

So, today we were emailing Elder Grover back and forth. We get to do that every Monday morning as that's his P-Day.  So, Stephanie told Alayna, (for those that don't know--Alayna is our 2 year old granddaughter) that she was talking to Reo. So,  she says,
"I wanna talk to Reo! I saw Reo in my juice. I'll get my purse. Reo likes my purse."
We really don't know where she comes up with this stuff, but she is her mama's child!!!!

"The work is good... we had a new baptismal date set, then the next day he called and canceled everything... including lessons. He knows it's true...he just doesn't want to change.... so yeah...but we still have the baptismal date with Nicole.... she is progressing i think... its quite interesting... she told us she was living the law of Chastity, and she has no problems with the word of wisdom... so thats nice... So, im thinking I may be transfered next transfer... this is the beginning of the 5th week so at the end of the 6th we'll find out...so not next monday, but next... its kinda a good thing, bad thing...ill miss Nicole's baptism... and a bunch of stuff..

"So, is chris really in San Jose??? thats where half my MTC is... i sent a letter out to him cuz i got the mission address so he better write..."

"We get fed every night. Last night was good, we had corn on the cob... I bought some grits at walmart, but they were the instant stuff so they are not that great... oh, and i bought that mix that Dad told me was good... I've been making biscuits a few times but i dont remember how you did it exactly... but they taste alright, Elder Allen likes em... anyway..."

Elder Grover suddenly interested in Cooking...guess that's cause he likes to eat.

"There are peacocks everywhere and they're a pain when you're trying to sleep."

Life at the MTC

"Today I found the coolest tie at the BYU bookstore"   .it's a pillow tie. Like you blow it up and you can sleep on it (like on the pew at church); although I'm a missionary...so, I probably shouldn't do it."

"my comp is soo much like ryan it freaks me out.... lol, im just
waiting for him to say.. come on in, take off your skin,  and rattle your bones around.........."

June 23, 2010 email: (ok...he's not the best speller in the world)
Hey Mom, Dad and everyone!  Yeah everything is great here... the food is generally good, though there grits are far below par, and their burritos always has hashbrowns in it, which i cant really stand... Sorry if this thing is all in one line, i cant click enter and skip a line......and im too lazy... Wednesday is my p-day so i will probably be checking email about this time every wednesday till i leave...... but yeah, mission is great. yesterday we had our first devotional by Elder Snow of the Seventy, it was really cool.. and this keyboard is awful.... i cant just type one period.. anyway, i got 13 minutes left.. my companion is elder Murdock, he has some similarities to Ryan, but still way different.... yeah dear elder is awesome, deffinately do it.. I havent got my package yet i spose ill get it soon today.... probably in my box.. so day to day is pretty simple.. we get up have breakfast, go to class were Bro. Olson teaches us.... then we have lunch, then Bro. Melton, which is this cool asian dude that sounds absolutely nothing like an asian, except when he says nothing and just nods his head.... anyway, he's like a huge scripture guy.. you know, like knows everything.... He and Bro.. Olson are awesome. I met a couple by the last name Grover, there like related just not sure where besides Thomas..

"It's weird how much you can change in one week. It doesn't feel like a week, much much longer."

Elder Grover arrived at the California Roseville Mission home on July 6--one day before my birthday. He got to call home from the airport! What a great birthday present for me! He is now in Lincoln, California and we are waiting for him to send us new pictures.

The Departure to the MTC

Elder Grover left for the Provo MTC on June 15, 2010.  It was a very sad day for us all--yet we were so proud of him for choosing to give two years of his life to serve the Lord.
